€12 Million Investment in a New Urban Hospitality Hub

Chisinau Becomes Home to Moldova’s First Ibis Styles Hotel

Amid a steady increase in the number of tourists, business travelers, and passengers transiting through Chișinău International Airport (RMO) — ranked third in Europe among airports with annual traffic between 1 and 10 million passengers — investments in the HORECA sector are gaining strategic importance for Moldova’s economic development. In the first half of 2025 alone, the airport recorded a 48.3% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2024, surpassing 2.45 million travelers.

Against this dynamic backdrop, a new ibis Styles hotel—part of the French Accor Group, a global hospitality leader—is set to officially open in Moldova in the fall of 2025. The ibis Styles hotel marks the first flagship project of the large-scale and innovative urban concept “German Village,” developed by Regata Imobiliare SRL.

The opening of this hotel contributes to the development of the national tourism infrastructure and confirms the growing attractiveness of the Republic of Moldova for international investment in the HORECA sector.

Strategically located on the main road to Chișinău International Airport, ibis Styles Chișinău offers hospitality tailored to the needs of both business and leisure travelers, whether in transit or visiting the capital.

The hotel features 100 modern rooms, a modular event center spanning over 200 m², a restaurant with bar and terrace, a fitness area, and 45 parking spaces. The design is with a tennis-themed interior — aligned with the creative identity of the entire urban development project.

The €12 million investment has generated approximately 50 jobs and is helping to attract international expertise to the HORECA sector, supporting local economic development.

“The opening of ibis Styles Chișinău marks a defining moment in the evolution of tourism in the Republic of Moldova. Through this project, we are contributing to the creation of a new hub of economic and touristic appeal, offering guests a hospitality experience that meets international standards in a creative and inclusive space. We are proud to be part of a project with such a broad and forward-looking vision for the urban future of Chișinău,” said Natalia Dubina, General Manager of ibis hotel.

The launch of ibis Styles Chișinău confirms the growing attractiveness of the Republic of Moldovafor international hospitality groups and highlights the country’s potential to become a competitive destination in Central and Eastern Europe — through projects that combine sustainability, urban functionality, and social impact.Recent trends support this evolution in the hospitality sector: in the first quarter of 2025, the number of tourists accommodated in the Republic of Moldova increased by 7.5% compared to the same period in 2024, while overnight stays rose by 23.2% — a clear sign that more and more visitors are choosing not only to come, but also to stay longer in the country.
