Energy compensation during the cold season could reach a maximum of 1,000 lei per month for each household, depending on its vulnerability level. Finance Minister Victoria Belous made the announcement during a programme on Vocea Basarabiei. According to her, the state estimates that it will need at least 2.5 billion lei to provide assistance to more than 650,000 families.
Victoria Belous said that more than 550 million lei has already been allocated in the budget for compensation covering November, with payments scheduled for December. The authorities intend to continue providing support from January through March 2027.
“Up to 1,000 lei for electricity, firewood or gas, depending on the vulnerability level of each family,” Belous emphasised.
According to the minister, the authorities will need to identify the financial resources required to cover the expenses. The eligibility criteria are established by the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and the compensation is intended to help households pay their electricity, natural gas or firewood bills.
