In the context of the European Political Community Summit in Tirana, European leaders reaffirm strong support for Moldova’s European path.

In a joint declaration issued on the sidelines of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Tirana, the leaders of France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, and the United Kingdom, together with the President of the European Council and the President of the European Commission, reaffirmed their unwavering and united support for the Republic of Moldova and its European future.

Following their meeting with President Maia Sandu, the European officials praised Moldova’s continued commitment to democratic reforms, the rule of law, and the shared values of the European community. “Moldova has enshrined its objective to join the European Union in its Constitution, clearly showing that this is the path its citizens have chosen for the country’s future,” the statement reads.

As Moldova prepares for future parliamentary elections, the declaration highlights the importance of ensuring that Moldovan citizens can freely choose their future without external interference. “We will continue to support Moldova in defending its democratic processes and strengthening its resilience against external threats,” the leaders added.
