The European Commission disbursed approximately 200 million euros to the Republic of Moldova under the EU Growth Plan for Moldova, which has a total value of 1.9 billion euros. Marta Kos announced this during a press conference.

Marta Kos said, “I am pleased to announce that around 200 million euros have been disbursed for Moldova after the implementation of 24 out of 26 reforms. Moldova is a top performer in this process.”

She emphasized that the Republic of Moldova plays an important role in European security and that the EU appreciates its reform efforts, even though the process remains complex.

In turn, Marilena Raouna noted that the EU enlargement process goes beyond technical aspects and requires clear political commitment.

Raouna said, “We focused in particular on competitiveness and inclusive growth, the green agenda and sustainable connectivity, as well as resources, agriculture, and cohesion. Technical work has progressed in the Council.”

Cristina Gherasimov, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, thanked the European Commission and the Cypriot Presidency for their support and announced a new step in the accession process.

Gherasimov stated, “Today we are opening technical negotiations for the last three clusters. This pragmatic approach allows the continuation of the accession process while political consensus among member states is still being consolidated.”

She added that EU accession remains a strategic objective for the Republic of Moldova. “The Parliament, the Presidency, and the Government are aligned with this objective. We continue reforms and the accession process even amid external pressures and hybrid attacks. Our goal is to be ready for accession by 2030, so that there are no technical obstacles when political consensus is reached.”

At the same time, the Republic of Moldova opened technical negotiations for the final accession chapters, covering competitiveness and inclusive growth, the green agenda and sustainable connectivity, as well as resources, agriculture, and cohesion.
