European Parliament Reaffirms Support for Moldova’s EU Accession and Security Efforts

The European Parliament reaffirmed its strong support for Moldova’s European integration and efforts to confront security challenges, ahead of the country’s crucial September parliamentary elections. The message was conveyed by Siegfried Muresan, President of the European Parliament’s Delegation for Relations with Moldova, following his meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popsoi in Brussels.

“I was pleased to meet again today with Mihai Popsoi, the Foreign Affairs Minister of Moldova. We discussed the challenges facing Moldova ahead of the elections, including Russian interference, the need for external support, and the importance of maintaining its European path. Moldova will need us—politically, financially, and institutionally, said Muresan.

These elections are not just about Moldova’s future—they are also about our shared security and stability at the EU’s borders. We will continue to stand by Moldova.”
