The European Union Leaders to Meet in Chisinau on July 4 for Moldova–EU Summit

European Union leaders will gather in Chisinau on July 4 to attend the Moldova–EU Summit, which will take place in the capital of the Republic of Moldova.

President Maia Sandu revealed that the attending officials will include Ursula von der Leyen, Antonio Costa, and Kaja Kallas. The summit will focus primarily on Moldova’s progress toward EU accession.

”This summit marks a new level of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and European institutions. The EU organizes such summits with candidate countries. The Republic of Moldova is a candidate country. This summit marks the beginning of an annual discussion series.

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, President of the Council Antonio Costa, and High Representative for Foreign Policy Kaja Kallas are all taking part in the summit. We will discuss specifically where we are in the accession process, how far the Republic of Moldova has fulfilled its commitments, and how the European institutions are meeting theirs. It is a high-level working format,” Maia Sandu stated.
