First visit by an Indian president to the Republic of Moldova. Droupadi Murmu arrives in Chisinau today

President of India Droupadi Murmu is paying an official visit to the Republic of Moldova on Monday, July 20, at the invitation of President Maia Sandu. It is the first visit by an Indian head of state to Moldova since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1992.

During their meeting in Chisinau, Maia Sandu and Droupadi Murmu will discuss expanding bilateral relations, with a particular focus on boosting trade, attracting investment, and strengthening cooperation in renewable energy, information technology, and digital transformation.

Later today, the two presidents will attend the opening of the Moldova–India Business Forum, organized by the Investment Agency. The event is expected to bring together business representatives from both countries, including around 30 entrepreneurs from India.

Following the official talks, Maia Sandu and Droupadi Murmu will deliver joint press statements starting at 11:30 a.m. Local broadcaster Realitatea TV and Rlive.md will broadcast the event live.
