SkyUp repeatedly failed to make payments, seriously violated contractual terms, and accumulated significant overdue debt, according to FlyOne representatives. This statement follows the cancellation of multiple flights to Egypt. The Moldovan airline announced that it canceled all contracted flights operated by the Ukrainian company to Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, and Sri Lanka, scheduled until March 29, 2025.
FlyOne representatives stated that multiple instances of financial non-compliance led to this decision. The company claims to have sent numerous notices and requests to SkyUp, urging it to fulfill its contractual and financial obligations.
”FlyOne set a deadline of March 21, 2025, for SkyUp to resolve the situation and later extended it to March 25, 2025. SkyUp failed to meet these deadlines and did not propose a plan for debt settling. FlyOne is currently assessing the legal framework to determine the status of invalid payment documents that SkyUp presented as payments for large outstanding debts. Based on this assessment, we will decide whether to refer the matter to the relevant authorities,” FlyOne stated.

The Moldovan airline also noted that SkyUp failed to meet its payment obligations to other service providers. As a result, its ground handling services in Egypt ceased, making flight operations impossible.
“The ground handling provider issued a suspension notice to SkyUp due to its significant outstanding debts.
Unfortunately, this situation had a powerful impact. However, SkyUp and JoinUp had the opportunity and the responsibility to prevent these consequences. Their irregularities and bad-faith actions created uncertainty, forcing FlyOne to cancel the mentioned flights after exhausting all communication channels and attempts to resolve the matter amicably.
Since non-payment has become a recurring issue with SkyUp and JoinUp, FlyOne is suspending its collaboration with these partners until they fully resolve their outstanding debts. Our company prioritizes passenger safety, comfort, and satisfaction. We will only establish future collaborations with partners who uphold high professional standards and adhere to fair and transparent business practices,” the Moldovan airline stated.
SkyUp recently announced plans to enter the Moldovan market with regular flights, claiming that FlyOne’s statements are part of a competitive dispute.
Hundreds of passengers missed their flights to Egypt after FlyOne canceled flights operated for SkyUp. The Moldovan airline officially informed the Civil Aviation Authority that it would not operate flights to two destinations due to SkyUp’s alleged failure to meet financial obligations.
