“In the name of the Gagauz people, who have never betrayed their historical friends, we appeal to you, dear Vladimir Vladimirovich: use the full arsenal of diplomatic, political, and legal mechanisms to pressure the Moldovan authorities to end political repression and ensure my swift release immediately. We ask you, as the leader of a power that has always stood for justice, to express firm and unequivocal support for the special status of Gagauz autonomy within the independent Republic of Moldova,” the statement reads.
