The Ciocana branch of the Chisinau Court has ruled to remand Eugenia Gutsul, the Bashkan of Gagauzia, in custody for 20 days, the IPN reports.
Gutsul did not make any statements to the press before or after the hearing.
Earlier, in a message posted on her social media pages, she pleaded not guilty, calling her detention at the airport illegal and claiming that the new case against her was fabricated.

Authorities detained Eugenia Gutsul on the evening of March 25, 2025, at Chisinau International Airport. Shor’s allies organized protests in Comrat, demanding her release.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Internal Affairs announced that Gutsul had planned to fly to Istanbul. Daniella Misail-Nichitin stated that authorities were considering the possibility that the Governor of Gagauzia intended not to return to the country. She explained that border police followed procedures, as Gutsul was on a watchlist.
