The General Police Inspectorate of the Republic of Moldova hosted the Regional Working Group meeting ”I-FORCE” on combating cybercrime for two days, an event organized by the General Secretariat of INTERPOL.
Law enforcement officers, project coordinators, and cybercrime experts from Romania, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom attended the meeting.
The Secretary General of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vladislav Cojuhari, and the Deputy Head of the General Police Inspectorate, Lilian Carabet, opened the event and expressed their gratitude to INTERPOL for “excellent cooperation and constant support in fighting cross-border crime.”
“Our institution proudly hosted this strategically important event. Organizing the meeting in Chisinau highlights our joint commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and combating cybercrime. We express our full openness to adopting best practices from our international partners, whose law enforcement systems have proven both efficient and resilient in facing today’s challenges. We are confident that this exchange of expertise will significantly enhance our joint efforts and reinforce regional security,” declared Deputy Head of the GPI, Lilian Carabet.

Over the two working days, participants discussed and shared best practices in preventing, investigating, and combating cybercrime.
They also addressed topics of strategic interest at institutional, regional, and international levels, focusing on strengthening operational capacity and police cooperation.
During the event, Deputy Head of the GPI, Mr. Lilian Carabet, held a working meeting with INTERPOL representatives Lisa Garin-Michaud and Mark Muelder.
The discussions focused on the prospects of implementing the ”I-FORCE” project within the national police system, emphasizing its “essential role in strengthening both cybersecurity and national security.” The Deputy Head of the General Police Inspectorate also thanked the INTERPOL team for the “technical assistance and equipment provided to the INTERPOL National Bureau in Chisinau, which are essential for enhancing the Police’s capacity to combat cross-border organized crime.”
The General Police Inspectorate reaffirmed its “strong commitment to developing international cooperation and continuing joint efforts for the effective fight against cybercrime in the region.”
