The government is to start negotiations with Hong Kong on air communication. The authorities believe such cooperation and signing the document will create a basis for opening direct flights from Chisinau to the special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China.
The state secretary of the Infrastructure Ministry, Mircea Pasqualuta, will be the Moldovan delegation that will negotiate the signing of the agreement.

According to the authorities, this will contribute to the development of the Moldovan air transportation market. Also, it will bring economic benefits to Moldova.
“Due to the development of passenger transportation between Moldova and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the creation of new jobs, quality services, reduction of travel tariffs, reduction of travel time, as well as the development of mutual tourism are expected,” the government said in a draft decision.
