The Information Technology and Cybersecurity Service (STISC) reported that in recent hours, hackers launched new DDoS attacks against the government’s IT infrastructure. The attacks aim to disrupt online public services and cause inconvenience for users.

Because of the attacks’ increased intensity, some government platforms may temporarily go offline or load more slowly. STISC specialists, together with institutional partners, are actively monitoring the situation and implementing measures to reduce the impact and restore full functionality as quickly as possible.

“We apologize for any inconvenience and assure citizens that we are doing everything possible to restore all services promptly,” the institution stated in a press release.

This is not the first time Moldova’s government infrastructure has faced large-scale cyberattacks. Similar incidents occurred on the eve of and during the parliamentary elections, when several official websites became temporarily inaccessible.
