Tiraspol-based media, citing officials from the Joint Control Commission, reported gunfire in the security zone. According to their claims, unknown individuals allegedly opened fire on an environmental inspector from the separatist region.
The incident reportedly occurred on May 21 in the Parcani-Varnita area. Around 11:00 a.m., the inspector from the self-proclaimed administration claimed to have spotted a boat and two individuals suspected of poaching with fishing nets.
As the inspector’s boat approached, the alleged poachers reportedly moved ashore on the constitutionally controlled side near Varnita. There, a vehicle allegedly picked them up.
A few minutes later, according to reports, the car stopped, and all three individuals exited the vehicle and opened fire on the inspector’s boat.
