The head of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office (EPPO), Laura Codrutsa Kovesi, will visit Chisinau. Prime Minister Dorin Recean announced this on Jurnal TV. Recean mentioned that there will be several meetings with Moldovan prosecutors, judges, and students from the law faculty.
“Now, when we opened the negotiations during the EU-Moldova Intergovernmental Conference in Luxembourg, it was with great pleasure that I met Mrs. Codrutsa Kovesi, and we agreed that either in July or in September, she will come to Chisinau and we will have meetings with prosecutors, judges, the INJ, the Faculty of Law of the USM, to encourage people to be honest, professional and, most importantly, courageous,” said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
Recently, at the first EU-Moldova intergovernmental conference, the head of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office said that the reforms Moldova is implementing on its way to joining the European Union are necessary not to satisfy the interests of Brussels or the EU member states, but for the benefit of its citizens.
