JSC “Moldovagaz” has completed by 100% the acquisition of natural gas volumes required for the entire heating season from October 2024 to March 2025 for the right-bank part of the country.
“The process began in July 2024 and concluded on December 12, 2024. Authorities procured 7,952,196 MWh, equivalent to 747.9 million cubic meters. The weighted average purchase price reached 47.88 euros/MWh, which is about 509.15 euros per 1,000 cubic meters, or about 9,842.89 lei per 1,000 cubic meters, with delivery to the Virtual Trading Point (VTP) of the Republic of Moldova,” Vadim Ceban said in a statement.
The basic part of gas volumes, totaling 7,443,773 MWh (approximately 700.1 million cubic meters), was purchased on the trading platform of the Romanian Commodities Exchange BRM EST Ltd. during August-December 2024, including specific periods:

– on the Gas Forward market (31 transactions) 7,184,259 MWh (about 675.6 million cubic meters);
– on the spot market (142 lots) 259,514 MWh (about 24.5 million cubic meters).
The remaining gas volumes of 508,423 MWh (about 47.8 million cubic meters) were purchased from Energocom SA, based on Government Decree nr.365 of May 29, 2024, approving the obligation to store natural gas.
