High-Level Dialogue Between Moldova and the EU: Chisinau Will Launch a Master’s Program in European Affairs

Chisinau will soon launch a master’s program in European affairs. Education cooperation stood among the key topics discussed at the first High-Level Dialogue between Moldova and the EU on labor, skills, education, social policy, and child welfare, which took place today in Chisinau.

European Commissioner Roxana Minzatu attended the event. As the official responsible for Social Rights, she held discussions with Education Minister Dan Perciun and Social Protection Minister Alexei Buzu.

The High-Level Dialogue will also focus on including Moldova in the EU School Meals Program, supported through the European Child Guarantee roadmap. Additionally, it aims to provide Moldovan schools with access to the Erasmus+ Program, according to the Ministry of Education.

“We aim to identify opportunities that bring the greatest benefits to our education system. In this respect, we have much to learn from European countries. Building a constant dialogue with our European partners is essential if we want to access and expand EU programs and initiatives in Moldova. Among the key topics we plan to explore through this dialogue are dual education, expanding the Model Schools Network, and boosting academic mobility for students and teachers,” said Dan Perciun.

The European Union acts as a strategic partner in modernizing Moldova’s education system. Through programs like Erasmus+, eTwinning, and Horizon Europe, Brussels has helped align Moldova with the Bologna Process, modernize school curricula, ensure international accreditation of academic programs, digitize education, and develop a network of model schools. Thanks to EU support, Moldovan youth have received 5,600 international academic mobility scholarships over the past 10 years.

European support has also expanded access to digital learning resources, improved classroom conditions, and made education more inclusive for students in both general and vocational schools across Moldova.
