Estonia will open an embassy in the Republic of Moldova. Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu announced the decision after a meeting with his counterparts from the Baltic states.
The diplomatic mission is expected to become operational in the second half of 2026. As a result, all three Baltic states will have embassies in the Republic of Moldova.
Being present here in this format clearly shows friendship, solidarity, and trust. For Moldova, the Baltic states are not only partners but also an example of courage. When we speak about European integration, we look to you. The path of the Baltic states shows that transformation is possible when political will exists, Igor Grosu said after the meeting.
The Speakers of Parliament of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania are on an official visit to Moldova. They are scheduled to deliver speeches at the opening of the spring session of Parliament, hold several meetings with officials in Chisinau, including the President and the Prime Minister, and visit the Calarasi district.
