Speaker of Parliament Igor Grosu welcomed the official opening of Moldova’s EU accession negotiations on the first cluster, saying Moldova continues to make concrete progress toward European integration.

He said in a social media message that Moldova is delivering results and will continue to build stronger state institutions and a European future for all citizens.

“Moldova delivers results and we will continue to build a stronger state, more efficient institutions, and a European future for every citizen,” Grosu said.

The Speaker emphasized that the opening of negotiations for the first cluster reflects reforms and joint efforts by authorities, civil society, the business sector, and European partners.

“The Republic of Moldova has taken another important step toward the European Union. We have officially opened accession negotiations for the first cluster – a result of the work, reforms, and joint efforts undertaken in recent years,” Grosu said.

On Monday in Luxembourg, the EU and Moldova officially opened accession negotiations on Cluster 1 – “Fundamentals” – during the second EU–Moldova Intergovernmental Conference in Luxembourg. The cluster covers justice, fundamental rights, freedom and security, public procurement, statistics, and financial control.
