Igor Talmazan is the new Secretary General of Parliament, appointed by Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu.
Talmazan is a lawyer by profession. He has previously served as the director of the Customs Service and Secretary General of the Government. He has also served as the head of the State Ecological Inspectorate, Deputy Minister of Environment, and head of the Control Body under the Prime Minister during his career. Talmazan became a member of parliament in 2021.
According to the Rules of Procedure of Parliament, the Chairman of the Legislative Forum appoints the Secretary-General after consulting with the Permanent Bureau and receiving the opinion of the Commission on Law, Appointments, and Immunity.

Tamara Georgica, who served as Secretary General from September 2021 to June 2024, will now become Deputy Secretary General of Parliament.
