Politician Ilie Bolojan made this statement during the annual meeting between the head of state from across the Prut and accredited ambassadors.
Romania’s interim president emphasized the importance of continuing the Republic of Moldova’s progress toward European Union membership. He also addressed the upcoming parliamentary elections, stressing that Bucharest must not allow Moscow to continue blackmailing Moldova through energy dependence.
“The solution for energy security lies in stronger interconnection with Romania and the European Union, and we are working intensively on that. For us, security and stability in the region are essential. However, our neighborhood presents not only challenges but also opportunities, particularly in terms of connectivity.

Whether we are talking about transport, energy, or digital networks, there is enormous potential in our region and for Romania’s role. That is why coordination and joint projects with the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine are vital, as is our involvement in Ukraine’s future reconstruction process,” Bolojan stated.
Romania remains a key supporter of Moldova’s European integration and its most important strategic partner. The Bucharest administration has consistently allocated aid and resources over the years through funded projects, humanitarian support, and financial assistance.
