Turkish authorities will cancel hundreds of flights to and from Istanbul between February 19-21 due to a weather alert warning of heavy snowfall and snowstorms.

The Ministry of Transport has decided to reduce flights by up to 20%, according to local media. Several airlines have already notified passengers about the cancellations and urged them to check updates with their airlines, online flight schedules, or call centers.

FlightRadar reports that airlines have canceled a significant number of domestic flights in Turkey. In the coming days, they will also suspend flights to Moscow and several European destinations, including cities in Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Malta, Montenegro, etc.

The Turkish Meteorological Service forecasts heavy snowfall in Istanbul from Wednesday, February 19, to Friday, February 21, and warns of a significant temperature drop.
