The mayor of Chisinau, Ion Ceban, is on a working visit to London, where he is holding talks with international institutions and organizations on development projects for the capital.
According to the mayor, discussions focus on major initiatives financed through European instruments, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank.
“I would like to remind you that the largest portfolio ever in the history of the capital amounts to 4.5 billion lei, currently managed by the municipality together with various international institutions through different European financing instruments,” Ceban stated.
The projects under discussion include improving energy efficiency in public buildings, modernizing kindergartens and schools, investing in hospitals, rehabilitating the Bic River and implementing flood prevention solutions, repairing roads, upgrading the wastewater treatment plant, and developing the waste management system.
The mayor said he will return with further details on the outcomes of the discussions and assured that the local administration continues to operate in line with established standards.
