Municipal authorities will intervene at all locations where potholes have appeared as soon as weather conditions allow, Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban assures. The mayor said that the city knows, assesses, and records all affected road sections, IPN reports.
During the City Hall operational meeting, Ion Ceban stated that such situations occur after every period of unfavorable weather and that authorities always carry out interventions once conditions stabilize.
According to the mayor, temperatures and rainfall this year have been continuous, a situation not recorded over the past five to six years. These conditions affect not only municipal roads but also local and national ones.
The mayor added that teams will initially carry out repair works using cold asphalt, followed later by other necessary interventions. He also called for public discussions on the issue to avoid manipulation, stressing that the administration is aware of every affected location, including roads that were repaired recently.
Referring to snow removal, Mayor Ion Ceban said that all municipal services have been involved in interventions over the past three weeks. Crews worked overnight and continue to operate, and the municipality has sufficient equipment and anti skid materials.
Melting snow has brought an old problem back to the surface: roads full of potholes. For drivers, this means vehicle damage and unexpected expenses, while for car service centers it results in an increased workload. More details are available in the report below.
