The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs informs that the Israeli authorities have postponed the introduction of mandatory paid electronic travel permits (ETA-IL) until January 1, 2025. Obtaining an ETA-IL was to have become compulsory and chargeable as of August 1, 2024, for travelers from all countries with which Israel has a visa-free regime, including Moldovan citizens.

The Moldovan Foreign Ministry announced, “The website for obtaining ETA-IL began operating in test mode on June 1, 2024. During this period, the Israeli Population and Migration Authority received several requests to revise the transition date from test to operational. According to the current decision of the Israeli authorities, the pilot program is extended until December 31, 2024, allowing Moldovan citizens to apply for a permit without paying the fee.”

The electronic entry permit is obtained exclusively in electronic form.
