Iwona Piorka, Head of the EU Delegation to Chisinau, met with Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban. According to the mayor, the discussions covered the current situation of the city, the implementation of the EU Growth Plan for the Republic of Moldova, and the administrative-territorial reform.
The officials discussed key development areas, including energy efficiency, waste management, and the expansion of cooperation with the European Union through investment projects and technical assistance.
“I expressed gratitude for the constant support provided by the European Union to the Republic of Moldova, including the municipality of Chisinau, and emphasized the importance of the EU partnership with local public authorities for the sustainable development of the capital,” Ion Ceban said.
The mayor also stated that Chisinau holds the largest portfolio of EU-funded projects in the country. These projects receive financing through various funding instruments and have a total value of approximately 4.5 billion lei.
