Decorative plates, a crystal vase, books, and a pair of silver earrings were given by the Portuguese president. The Presidential Institute published a list of protocol gifts received by the country’s president, Maia Sandu, in the fourth quarter of 2023, from October to December.
“The most expensive gift, worth 26,020 lei, is a vase of lead-free crystal, hand-blown and engraved, polished with 24-carat gold, cut into six facets. This gift was presented by Czech President Petr Pavel during the official visit of the Maia Sandu to the Czech Republic.”

The President of the Swiss Confederation presented President Maia Sandu with an exclusive luxury mechanical music box with the classic song “Seasons.” The gift was presented during the president’s official visit to Switzerland and has a market value of 13,200 lei, the presidential administration said.
In addition, during an official visit to Portugal, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa presented Maia Sandu with a pair of white gold-polished earrings and two identical decorative vases.
