Acting Culture Minister Sergiu Prodan presented a report and outlined key achievements during his tenure. The official highlighted the national program “Access to Culture”, as well as the funding allocated for national projects.

Prodan emphasized the launch of the National Culture Fund, with a national budget of 28 million lei, the increase in salaries for cultural sector employees, and the growth of the sector’s budget. He also pointed to national theater tours, festivals, performances, and creative workshops organized in over 120 localities across Moldova, according to Moldpres.

“For communities, cultural life represents patriotism, love for the country, and the desire to remain at home. Emigration is not only caused by lack of money but also by the lack of moral satisfaction in living in an active and culturally vibrant community,” the official said.

Regarding national heritage, Prodan referred to the restoration and protection of historical monuments, including the Church of the Assumption in Causeni, the creation of the Advisory Council for the Memory of Political Repressions, and the inclusion in UNESCO indicative lists of the Cucuteni civilization, the wine cellars at Milestii Mici and Cricova, as well as the cobza and the “cămășii cu altiță.”
