The situation in the Republic of Moldova is critical, said President Klaus Iohannis in The Hague at a meeting organized in preparation for the NATO summit in Vilnius.
“The situation in Moldova is critical and worries not only me but, as I learned today, all of us. I believe it is our duty and responsibility to find ways to help Moldova build its resilience. I am very glad that my colleagues also share my opinion, and it would be great if we had some notes on this in the Vilnius Conclusions,” he said.
The Romanian President believes that it is NATO’s responsibility to find ways to help Moldova increase its resilience.
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis took part on Tuesday, June 27, in The Hague, Kingdom of the Netherlands, in a small preparatory meeting for the NATO Summit in Vilnius, at the invitation of the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. As part of the discourse, the head of Romania emphasized the relevance of developing allied assistance to strengthen the defense capability and stability of the Republic of Moldova.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the achievement of priority goals on the agenda of the NATO Summit in Vilnius, which will be held from July 11 to 12.
