Krasnoselski complained again to the Russians: He told them that the alleged pressures from Chisinau are worse than the gas shortage

Vadim Krasnoselski claimed in an interview with the Kremlin-controlled outlet TASS that the so-called pressures from the constitutional government on the Transnistrian region weigh heavier than the gas shortage. The separatist leader believes Chisinau aims “to destroy Transnistria’s industry.”

The official from Tiraspol vaguely described actions that allegedly paralyze major industrial enterprises east of the Dniester. He stated that authorities blocked the bank accounts of these companies, which operate through Moldovan financial institutions.

“This is not about gas at all. The Republic of Moldova carries out destructive actions that block our industrial enterprises. This problem is more serious than the gas crisis because it represents a long-term plan to destroy our heavy industry,” Krasnoselski said.

Since January 2025, when Gazprom cut gas deliveries to Transnistria, local enterprises have stagnated. The budget shrank because Chisinau stopped buying electricity from Cuciurgan, and Tiraspol officials have redirected unused funds from 2024 to cover public sector wages.

Some argue that, even after the heating season ends, the saved gas will not be sufficient for local industries to operate at full capacity.

Currently, Transnistria receives about 3 million cubic meters of gas per day, delivered by a Hungarian company and paid through a Dubai-registered firm.
