The so-called leader from the left bank of the Dniester, Vadim Krasnoselski, believes that current circumstances require the resumption of dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol.
During a meeting with Lithuania’s Ambassador to Moldova, Tadas Valionis, Krasnoselski said that a high-level meeting is necessary so that both sides “can sit at the negotiating table and address the issues that have accumulated over the past years.”
“We must resolve the matters that directly affect people’s lives. The most important thing is ensuring security and maintaining peace on both banks of the Dniester,” Krasnoselski emphasized, according to novostipmr.com.
He added that the negotiation process between Chisinau and Tiraspol has effectively stalled, and political contacts have failed to produce tangible results. Krasnoselski also called for the revival of the ‘5+2’ negotiation format, which he described as “the only mechanism capable of ensuring a comprehensive dialogue.”
The ‘5+2’ format includes the parties to the conflict — Chisinau and Tiraspol — with the OSCE, Russia, and Ukraine acting as mediators and guarantors, and the European Union and the United States as observers.
