Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated during his official visit to Chisinau that Greece can help improve Moldova’s energy security by using the Southern Energy Corridor. He referred particularly to the Alexandroupolis LNG terminal, which can serve as a source of new gas supplies for both Moldova and Romania, according to IPN.
During a joint press conference with President Maia Sandu, the Greek Prime Minister stressed that the effective use of this corridor could allow Greece to become a reliable energy service provider for the entire region.
“We discussed today how we can ensure that this corridor functions effectively and remains price competitive, which would be very important for the Republic of Moldova,” the Prime Minister noted.
Maia Sandu and Kyriakos Mitsotakis also addressed bilateral trade, strengthening business ties, advancing IT cooperation, and tourism.
