On Thursday, July 11, President Maia Sandu of the Republic of Moldova attended the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Constituency meeting in Chisinau. The Constituency represents a group of countries that have joined efforts to strengthen their position in the IMF and the World Bank. Moldova is part of the Constituency, which includes Andorra, Armenia, Armenia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Croatia, Georgia, Israel, Israel, Luxembourg, the Republic of North Macedonia, Montenegro, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Romania, the Republic of Moldova, the Republic of the Netherlands, and Ukraine.
In her message, the Head of State said that in recent years, despite numerous challenges, our country has become more resilient and stronger, thanks to the support of international partners such as the World Bank and the IMF.
He also stressed that Moldova is at the forefront of the fight to protect democracy.

“Economic development and democracy are interdependent – economic progress is crucial for strengthening support for democracy, and democracy provides the strongest foundation for building a prosperous economy,” said Maia Sandu.
Also today, the President held meetings with representatives of international financial institutions – Kenji Okamura, Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, and Antonella Bassani, World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia.
