Maia Sandu condemns the nighttime attacks on Odessa and the bombing of the famous Privoz market in the Ukrainian city. The head of state mentioned that “Moldovans know its voices, smells, and spirit.”
The President expressed her compassion for the Ukrainians. In this context, Maia Sandu highlighted that last night’s attack was a barbaric act against civilians.
“The heart of Odesa—Privoz Market—lies in ruins after another brutal Russian strike. Moldovans know its voices, its smells, its spirit. We mourn with Ukraine and condemn yet another barbaric act of terror against civilians,” she stated on X.

A drone attack launched by Russian forces on Wednesday night caused significant damage in Odessa, hitting residential buildings, monuments in the historic center, listed as part of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites, as well as the famous Privoz market.
