In Chisinau, the head of state met with the Chairman of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany, Berbel Bas. This is the second visit of the head of the Bundestag to the Republic of Moldova since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries.
During the meeting, President Maia Sandu stated that Germany is an important and loyal partner of the Republic of Moldova.
“German investments provide jobs for thousands of Moldovans. Germany finances water supply and sanitation projects in several localities in the country. It supports projects for small and medium-sized enterprises. Last winter, Germany contributed 40 million euros to the Energy Vulnerability Reduction Fund, of which compensation was provided to pay electricity bills,” Maia Sandu said.
At the same time, the head of state stressed that additional gratuitous assistance was recently announced for projects with renewable energy and energy efficiency. These and many other projects mean concrete benefits for our citizens.
Our German partners are helping us to strengthen our defense and home affairs sectors to ensure greater security for our citizens. Germany also supports our goal of European integration.
