Maia Sandu met with MEPs Dragos Tudorache and Andrzej Halicki

President Maia Sandu has a meeting with MEPs Dragos Tudorache and Andrzej Halicki, the press service of the presidency reports.

The conversation focused on cooperation between the European Parliament and the Republic of Moldova in the context of the Jean Monnet Dialogue, a tool developed by the European Parliament to promote peace and democracy through parliamentary dialogue.

The President thanked the parliamentarians for the fact that the European legislature keeps the Republic of Moldova as a priority on the EU agenda and highlighted the progress made by the ruling team in implementing the nine recommendations of the European Commission in granting the status of an accession candidate country. The head of state noted that the Chisinau government remains firm in its commitment to clean up and reform the judiciary, fight corruption, and eliminate the influence of criminal gangs on the economy, politics, and the media.

The European Parliament is a supporter of the European path of the Republic of Moldova. President Maia Sandu reiterated the importance of cooperation with the European Forum to accelerate our country’s accession to the European Union.
