“Nothing is stronger than the bond of a family.” It is within the family that we first learn to love, forgive, and support one another. President Maia Sandu conveyed this message on the occasion of International Day of Families, marked today in the Republic of Moldova.
The head of state expressed gratitude to all those whose love and care help keep Moldova united.
“Over the past four years, we have invested in education, healthcare, increasing incomes, and raising allowances—measures that directly support the families in our country. All our efforts have a single goal: for every family in Moldova to live better and with greater confidence in the future.

The International Day of Families is being celebrated throughout Moldova with a series of public events, all part of an Action Plan approved by the Government on Wednesday.
The plan includes over 80 initiatives and activities organized by central and local authorities. These include round tables, themed workshops, cultural performances, awareness campaigns, and local competitions.
This year’s events are held under the theme “Family Policies for Sustainable Development,” with a special focus on:
- Social inclusion
- Work-life balance
- Intergenerational solidarity
