President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu is taking part on Wednesday, January 7, in the official opening of Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
President of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides is hosting the event, which brings together senior European officials, including European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Cyprus assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union on January 1 for a six month term. In this context, authorities in Chisinau say the Republic of Moldova stands ready to take decisive steps forward in its European integration process.
