In the context of the intense discussions in recent days regarding the “Trump plan” for ending the war in Ukraine — a 28-point document presented to President Volodymyr Zelensky — the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, delivered a strong message on platform X.
“Europe’s stability depends on Ukraine’s independence, sovereignty, and security being fully guaranteed.
Unity and determination from all of Ukraine’s partners are essential to ensure a peace that will endure,” Sandu wrote, emphasizing the need for a consolidated stance from democratic states.
The president’s message comes as Kyiv holds discussions with Paris, London, Berlin, Brussels, and other European capitals regarding “next steps” in response to the plan proposed by the Trump administration. Ukrainian authorities have described the document as dangerous, given that it demands territorial concessions, abandoning NATO accession, and reducing the country’s military capabilities — requirements the Ukrainian side considers unacceptable.
