President Maia Sandu will hold consultations with members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia on the organization of elections in the autonomous region. The announcement was made by the Presidential Administration’s press service.
“Members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia are expected today for consultations with President Maia Sandu in the context of the Constitutional Court’s ruling regarding the steps necessary to organize elections in the autonomy,” the Presidential Administration said.
All members of the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia were invited to the Presidential Office on Monday. The information was confirmed to Realitatea by Alexandr Tarnavski, a member of the regional legislature in Comrat.
Earlier this month, Moldova’s Constitutional Court limited several powers of the administration in Comrat, a decision that sparked criticism from politicians in Gagauzia.
