Constitutional authorities have devised a support plan for the Transnistrian region, but Russia must withdraw its illegally stationed troops on the left bank of the Dniester, Maia Sandu states. During her appearance on ProTV’s “In Profunzime,” the president warned that a new crisis might erupt in the region.
She asserts that Moscow has exploited the region’s residents for years. According to Sandu, the financial situation in Transnistria remains precarious, and a new crisis could emerge before the parliamentary elections.
“We can expect this crisis to intensify in the coming months before the elections. We have the European Union support program, especially for the energy sector. We have a support plan for this region, but we must solve the primary issue – the withdrawal of Russian troops. We must resolve this peacefully, as I have stated repeatedly. Otherwise, we cannot justify the financial support,” the president emphasized.
