President Maia Sandu will attend the sixth edition of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit on Friday, May 16, in Tirana, Albania. During the summit, the president will meet with European leaders, heads of state, and government to discuss Moldova’s economic development, regional peace and security, and the EU accession process.
The European Political Community, initiated by French President Emmanuel Macron, serves as a political dialogue platform for peace and security across the continent and cooperation between EU member states and countries outside the EU. The organizers held the inaugural summit in Prague in October 2022, and Moldova hosted the second edition in June 2023.
Additionally, on Saturday, May 17, in Tirana, Maia Sandu will meet with the President of Albania, Bajram Begaj. On May 19, at the invitation of President Jakov Milatovic, she will make an official visit to Montenegro.

Like Moldova, Albania, and Montenegro are candidate countries for EU membership. The president’s visits will enhance coordination and cooperation in the accession process through exchange and strengthening bilateral relations.
