President Maia Sandu said she will not take a vacation in August, explaining that she plans to continue working due to the government’s demanding agenda. She made the remarks during the Cabinetul din Umbra program on Jurnal TV, noting that she had already taken a few days off at the beginning of the summer.
The head of state said she would remain focused on her duties in the coming weeks.
“We are going to work because we have a lot of work to do. I had a few days off at the beginning of the summer, and from now on I will continue working,” Maia Sandu said.
Asked whether the MoldATSA controversy, which also involved her cousin, Anastasia Taburceanu, coincided with her summer break, Sandu acknowledged that it did.
“That’s how things happened. It’s a sign that I shouldn’t go on vacation anymore,” she said.
When asked whether she expects to take any vacations before the end of her current presidential term, Sandu replied that she could not predict what would happen but stressed that, for now, she remains focused on her work.
“I can’t say what will happen before the end of my term, but for now we are at work,” the president said.
