President Maia Sandu received European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos at the Presidency, where the Brussels official congratulated Moldova on its rapid progress toward joining the European Union.
“The EU firmly supports Moldova’s integration into the European family,” Kos told the head of state, according to the EU Delegation in Chisinau. She praised Moldovan officials for completing the screening process, liberalizing roaming, and establishing a new trade regime.
The EU mission in Chisinau confirmed that Moldovans will use mobile networks in EU member states without additional roaming costs starting January 1, 2026. The new trade regime, the mission added, opens wider export opportunities for Moldovan producers.
