Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popsoi, held a phone conversation with his Qatari counterpart, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.

The discussion focused on recent security developments in the Middle East, including attacks targeting the territory of Qatar and their implications for regional stability.

The Moldovan foreign minister expressed Moldova’s solidarity with the State of Qatar and condemned the attacks aimed at military and civilian infrastructure. He underlined the importance of respecting sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the principles of international law.

Mihai Popsoi also addressed the situation of Moldovan citizens currently in Qatar. Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani highlighted the efforts undertaken by Qatari authorities to protect the country’s territory and ensure the safety of citizens and foreign residents, including Moldovan nationals. The Qatari side thanked the Republic of Moldova for its position and for the bilateral partnership.

Both officials emphasized the need to continue diplomatic efforts and dialogue to prevent further escalation and maintain stability in the region.
