Moldova’s Foreign Minister Mihai Popsoi will pay a working visit to New York from September 23 to 26. He will be part of the national delegation led by Prime Minister Vasile Tofan, which will attend the high-level segment of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and related events.
The session will bring together heads of state and government, as well as foreign ministers from UN member states, to discuss key developments and challenges on the international agenda.
Popsoi’s agenda includes participation and remarks at several high-level meetings, including the sixth edition of the Crimea Platform Summit, a meeting of the Group of Friends for Accountability for Crimes in Ukraine, a meeting on pandemic prevention, preparedness and response, and an event marking the 75th anniversary of the adoption of the 1951 Convention Relating to the Status of Refugees.
The Moldovan foreign minister will also attend the “Partnership for Multilateralism, International Law, Peace and Prosperity” summit.
During the visit, Popsoi is scheduled to meet with foreign ministers from several countries, including Hungary, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Tunisia and Chile.
He will also hold discussions with senior UN officials, as well as the Director-General of UNESCO, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
