Citizens of Moldova will soon have access to direct flights to and from Iceland following the approval of the Agreement on Air Services at today’s cabinet meeting.
The agreement establishes bilateral air services between the two countries and outlines regulations on air transport operations, airline designation and authorization, and aviation security.
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development highlighted the agreement’s impact on Moldova’s aviation sector:

“Signing the agreement will open Moldova’s air services market, diversify destinations from Chisinau International Airport, and improve access to Icelandic markets. It will drive economic benefits by increasing passenger traffic and enhancing competitiveness in the domestic aeronautical market.”
The new direct flights will provide greater travel opportunities for Moldovans while strengthening economic and tourism ties between Moldova and Iceland.
