Moldova and Nepal Explore Economic and Educational Partnerships

During an official visit to Nepal, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popsoi, met with Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli to discuss strengthening bilateral relations.

Expanding Economic Cooperation

Popsoi emphasized the strategic importance of the Nepalese market for Moldova, noting that its 30 million consumers present a significant opportunity for expanding trade.

“The Republic of Moldova is eager to attract investments from Nepal and strengthen trade relations, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture and the food industry,” said Popsoi.

He highlighted Moldova’s high-quality agricultural products, including apples, plums, grapes, and internationally recognized wines, expressing interest in exporting them to Nepal.

Collaboration in Education

The officials also explored opportunities for educational cooperation, including academic partnerships and student exchange programs. Popsoi noted that Moldovan diplomas are internationally recognized, including within the European Union, making Moldova an attractive destination for Nepalese students.
