Moldova exported just over 13,000 tons of apples in April 2025, according to Logos Press, down from over 18,000 tons in March and around 20,000 tons in April 2024.
Industry experts explained that apple exports typically drop between April and June as the selling season for the previous year’s harvest winds down.
They attributed the year-over-year decrease to Moldova’s smaller 2024 apple harvest—about 440,000 tons, which left fewer high-quality apples available for export in late spring and early summer 2025.
