Biathlete Alina Stremous recorded the best result so far for Moldovan athletes at the Milan–Cortina Winter Olympic Games. The athlete finished 14th in the women’s 15 km individual event.
With no penalty laps, she was timed at 43 minutes and 46.5 seconds.
According to the National Olympic and Sports Committee, the Olympic champion became France’s Julia Simon (41:15.6), followed by her compatriot Lou Jeanmonnot (42:08.7) and Bulgaria’s Lora Hristova (42:20.1).
At the previous edition of the Winter Olympic Games, held in Beijing in 2022, Alina Stremous finished 26th.
